Mr. James has 25 years of experience with appeals, appellate briefs, and oral argument, at many levels. When you just don't have time to write the brief, Mr. James can write it and then argue your case in the District Court, Court of Appeals, or Supreme Court of Colorado.

Mr. James has many, many unpublished cases. He won two unpublished cases in 2005, representing parents who had lost children to the state, by focusing on the Magistrate's failure to advise.

In 2003 Mr. James won a delinquency appeal/review from a juvenile magistrate to the district court, on the issues of the Curtis Advisement and CRE 404.

In In the Interest of R.D.H., 944 P.2d 660 (Colo. App. 1997), Mr. James tried the mother's case underlying the appeal and helped develop the appellate issues.

In about 1984, Mr. James won an appeal from the Denver County Court to the Superior Court establishing the spendthrift-collectability of garnishments against union vacation funds that persisted until the Legislature changed the law ten years later.

As a Deputy DA, Mr. James won an appeal from the county court to the district court on the issue of the constitutionality of the 55 mile-per-hour speed limit maximum, preserving the issue for Pueblo County's appeal to the Supreme Court in Olinyk v. People, 642 P.2d 490 (Colo. 1982).
